Let's Explore
A quiet powerful presence
It was a cool morning this past Wednesday, so I threw on a jacket over my PJs and headed out to feed Star. Hood up, head down, I braved the breeze, gave Star a cookie, her kibble, a quick once-over, then headed back in.
The wind calmed and the sun began to warm things up, so I took a turn around the flower beds.
What an explosion of color!
Fuchsia azaleas, royal purple iris, and bubblegum pink shamrocks were practically shouting for attention.
But then I spotted one of my favorite spring arrivals quietly showing up: the japanese fern.
It’s easy to overlook right now - smaller, softer, more subdued. But when I leaned in, its beauty unfolded.
So many greens. From deep, purple-tinged stalks to soft ivory fronds, the fern holds a spectrum of subtle color. The texture too: delicate, intricate, the edges twisting in a gazillion little directions.
I was drawn in by the bold, flashy flowers. But it was the quiet, layered presence of the fern that stayed with me.
Later that morning, a conversation with a client echoed the same truth.
They came into our session feeling overlooked.
Deflated.
Invisible.
Decades of experience, creative insight, and thoughtful leadership... ignored in favor of newer, louder, shinier ideas.
They’d been chasing external approval, trying to be what others wanted - but the more they chased, the less seen and heard they felt.
We could blame it on a million things - ageism, being Gen X (the “Forgotten Generation”), or the rise of AI and automation - but let’s not get stuck there.
Instead, let’s name the shift we’re in.
Visibility isn’t what it used to be.
We were trained to believe it came from hard work, long hours, staying small until someone told us we’d earned the right to take up space.
That kind of effort used to be our armor. But that armor? It’s cracked.
Heavy. Outdated. Rusted by our blood, sweat and tears.
It doesn’t fit who we are now.
It’s time to step out from behind it.
To lead with our nuance.
To be seen without shouting.
To shape the narrative instead of being shaped by others’ expectations.
You have a quiet power that doesn’t need gimmicks to be recognized.
So if you’re wondering how to move forward - how to get clear on your value and let it land - I’d love to help.
This week, I’m quietly offering a few Value & Visibility Audits.
It’s a gentle, clear-eyed review of how your presence is showing up in the world. You might send over your LinkedIn profile, a team meeting recap that left you spinning, or a bio or resume that no longer sounds like you.
You’ll send me 3–4 real-world examples. I’ll send back a personalized video with insights and practical recommendations for shaping your story.
I’m gifting this to the first five people who reach out. After that, it’ll be just $47.
It's easy to get started - reply back to this email saying you're ready for a review!
Know someone who needs this? Feel free to pass it along.
So whether you’re showing up like a bold azalea or a quiet fern, let’s get you rooted in your value and ready to be seen.
